Inspiration

I just love this passage:

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? . . . . And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. . . . . For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Mt 6:25, 28, 32-34

Simply put, trust in God... Everything else is secondary. Everything. This was a very hard thing for me to learn as a young college student. I thought the world revolved around me. I worshiped myself as well as science and technology. If I wanted it, I got it. That was the main theme of the '90s: if it feels good how can it be bad? Just do it and have fun. I have learned better. The world does not revolve around me, it revolves because of His will. My life is part of His plan and my eventual passing will be according to His plan. When you put your trust in God you free yourself from the burdens of all things that are out of control in your life. Think about this for a minute: isn't it funny how you always end up getting just what you need? Do you think that is your doing? All the minute events that happened just perfectly to get you exactly where you are were totally your doing? My broken shoulder in officer candidate school was my own doing? If not for that, I never would have settled down to raise a wonderful family and I probably never would have matured and re-discovered my faith. He is far better equipped to manage this crazy life, so, let Him.
